What is Lebanon Lindy Leap:

Lebanon Lindy Leap (LLL) is a project designed to bring together people who love swing music and love to dance, to teach them the basics of Lindy Hop and a few related dances, and to enjoy together the dancing and the music.

What is Lindy Hop:

Lindy Hop is a social partner dance that started in Harlem, New York City in the 1920’s, around the time when swing jazz emerged. It combines elements of African dances, Charleston, and European couples dances. It is quite aerobic at times, and just like the music it is danced to, swing jazz, it has plenty of opportunity for improvisation.

Goals of the project:

Short-term goals:
1. To teach and spread Lindy Hop and related dances in Lebanon.
2. To create a community of dancers who love swing music.
3. To have social swing dance parties in which to practice the steps learned (and create new ones), get some exercise, and enjoy the music as well as other dancers’ company.
Long-term goals:
1. To have some, or all, members of this dance community travel to international Lindy Hop & swing dance camps to learn more about these great dances.
2. To host Lindy Hop & swing dance workshops and camps here in Lebanon, and bring teachers and students from all over the world.
3. To provide an opportunity to Lindy Hop & swing dancers from around the world to discover and enjoy Lebanon.

Classes and Other Activities:

Three classes in Lindy Hop and related dances are currently being held at different locations, plus more activities to be announced!

Beginner/mixed level class:
